Severus captured Nisibis in Parthia and made it the capital of a Parthian province in the Roman empire.  In China, The Han emperor eventually suppressed the "Yellow Turban" rebellion but at great cost.  In South China, the Han empire was unable to defeat the theocratic state of the cult of the Way of Five Pecks of Rice.  Eventually, the leader of the cult, Chang Lu, surrendered to the Han general Ts'ao Ts'ao and was given a large piece of property and an official title.  In the west, Germanic Saxons began raiding Roman-occupied Britain.  During this period, Emperor Caracalla stopped in Alexandria, Egypt in preparation for an invasion of Parthia.  Because of alleged slurs made about him by city residents, he massacred thousands of Alexandrians; mostly young men of military age.
