In 429, the Vandals attacked North Africa and by 435 controlled Roman Africa.  The Vandals then took Carthage and began to attack Sicily and southern Italy.  By the end of the quarter-century, the Visigoths of Spain held their own independent nation and were allied to Rome against the African Vandals.
In 441 and 447, the Huns attacked the Balkan provinces because their ransom payments had not been made by Constantinople.

Notable Battles
429 Verulamium (St. Albans) between the British and Saxon/Pict pirates.
439 Carthage between Genseric and the Romans.
