Henning Hillmann is professor of economic and organizational sociology at the University of Mannheim. He wrote a book on the privateers of France in the long 18th century in order to understand what motivated these privateers and how they organized themselves. He recently co-authored a book on a subject not written on before, the Earp bootlegging operation at the Sawtelle Old Soldiers’ Home in Sawtelle, California.
